The event is open to anyone seeking to improve the delivery of care in the hospital setting. It will provide practical help and advice, based on research, for the management of older people in hospital who present with confusion which may be caused by delirium or dementia.
Delegates will also receive a copy of the latest publication Caring for People With Dementia in Acute Care Settings. This four-part resource is designed to support acute care staff. It aims to help staff to work positively with people with dementia in their care by informing practice and providing practice based tools and strategies.
The event will include a number of practice based workshops considering practical solution that can deliver real change. The event will provide an opportunity for delegates to draw on the Dementia Centres many years of experience in the area of hospital care to make change happen.
